Memories for a lifetime

What a day 4th of July turned out to become.
I'm still so happy just thinking of it. It is one of those days I will remember forever I think.
Started off with me, Millie and Riah meeting at Millie's place. We then went and bought food and drinks for the entire day.
After researching I knew there were going to be an obscene amount of people watching the fireworks, so to make sure we had a good spot we positioned ourselves in the park on one of the piers leading out into the hudson. Basically exactly where the fireworks were going to be.
We got settled at around 2.30 pm and the show was going to start at around 9pm... in other words, we had a lot of time to kill.
It didn't seem that long though. We had a big blanket, great food, ICE to keep us chilled and umbrellas to protect us from the worst sun.
There was such good atmoshpere around and everyone was having a great time.We passed the time by chatting, laughing, eating, singing, dancing, playing games and soaking up every ounce of the experience as possible.
I could easily do that every day, if it hadn't been for the heat. That was the only thing that was really hard. It was so so so warm and sticky. Some people had been clever and wore bikinis underneath their clothes... well we weren't that clever so we spent the day sweating it out. Buying ice was the best idea we had! It honestly saved us :)
The fireworks started at around 9.30 pm and they were truly incredible!! Well worth the wait.
I'm so happy I got to actually experience 4th of July in America and in NEW YORK.
I will truly remember it forever!
xx
