Today my friend Sophie booked her ticket to come and visit me here in London next weekend.
I'm really excited and I know she's nervous because she's never flown abroad before.
We're going to have the best weekend.
Whoooop!
If only my cold will go away!!!

Here's some STUNNING photos from the great year 2006.
Enjoy

VIIIIILE!
I've had the bestest of bestes night with my besties.
We had an amazing dinner at the restaurant ECO here in Clapham and then we went and saw The Way Way Back at Clapham Picture House.

I'm a lucky girl to have such amazing friends!
Love them with all my heart

Xx

Hiiiiii everyone

I'm sorry I didn't have time to write a few last posts whilst in New York.
My last days were so hectic but really incredible!
I spend a lot of time with Melanie and Victoria! Soooo much fun!
Went to Hoboken and had a walk around town. Such a cute little city, I'm really glad I got to see it before I left.
We went out in Hoboken my final night :)

The flight and trip back to London went really well. Plane was on time and the journey from Heathrow home was so quick. London was showing off it's best side with the sunniest day yesterday as well. Love this city.

It really is great to be back home. I've missed my babies sooooooooo much. Cried a whole lot when I saw them yesterday. haha.
These last couple of days I've just been trying to spend as much time as possible with them but tomorrow it's time to get back to reality and I have to go out and try to find a job :)

So what's my final words on my time in New York....
Well I've had an incredible time. It's been hard as well, missing people and not really knowing anyone. But I made great friends, got to see what an amazing city New York is and I learnt a lot about myself and what I want and value in life.
Once again I really am blessed and for that I'm eternally grateful.

THANK YOU to everyone who was a part of making this trip a memory forever.
I love you all!

Now it's time to turn over a new leaf and start a new chapter in the book that's my life
I'm really excited
xx

Me and Mel on my last night. So hapyy I met this amazing person! She's the best <3

Can't believe it but my New York adventure is almost over.
The last few days have been really great and I've been hanging out with a friend called Melanie a lot.
She's such great girl and I'm really sad I didn't get to know her sooner!!
So typical, but oh well. I'm glad I at least got to meet her :)

Yesterday we went to The High Line and it was the most incredible place.
Basically it's a park created on an old elevated railroad in the meatpacking district.
It was truly one of the most beautiful places I've been to and the fact that we were walking there during the breathtaking sunset made it all so magical.

If you're ever in New York you should definitely check it out!!!
I wish I would have known about it sooner.

Today it's friday and I'm super excited!
My dear friend Hanna from Sweden has arrived in New York with her family so we are meeting up tonight for dinner. And then Me, Hanna, Melanie and a few others are going out. :)

Now I have to go and run som errands.

Lots of love
xx

Sunbeds built on the old railroad tracks :)

Hey Mel :)

The view <3

Yesterday I saw a show on Broadway for the first time since I arrived!
If you know me you know that musicals are my big passion in life and there are few things that bring me more joy.
I got the tickets from TKTS on Times Square, and they are supposed to be one of the cheapest ways to get broadway tickets. Well if you think it's going to be cheap, think again.
Broadway is extremely expensive so just be prepared.

A friend of mine had recommended I should see Newsies. She has seen it twice and really enjoyed it.

First off, I get in and realise I have a seat in the FRONT ROW! That's pretty amazing!!!!
And then, let me just say! OMG to this production!
I mean it's a cast of mostly all singing, all dancing HUNKS! The guys in this show are all so madly talented AND beautiful I promise I had my mouth open the entire show!
Craaaaazy!
The music was great but the dancing and choreography was OUTSTANDING!
The set was very clever and the story touching!
Overall a truly incredible musical. I'm very happy I saw it!!

I recommend it to anyone that goes to NYC. It's well worth the money!!!

Aaah, epic night
xx

This Hunk, Adam Kaplan played the lead last night!
*drool*

Front row seat!! <3

Sundays are always good days in this city. :)
I had a really lazy first half of the day. Saw Aristocats while having lunch. Such a long time ago I saw that film. It really is one of the best Disney films.
I took the bus into the city and went to the 7pm service at church where I got A SEAT for the first time. If this was my last time at Hillsong NYC I'm really happy I once got to sit down at a service, It made the whole thing even better.

Met a new friend and her friend and we decided to walk to a roof top bar pretty close by and we spent the rest of the night there.
It was the first roof top bar i've been to in the city and it was so so beautiful.
Had great company as well. Love getting to know new people here. Although getting to know new people means it will be harder to leave in a week.

Anyhow I will try to make the best out of my last week here. I'm kind of running out of money so I shall try to think before I do something though. Might just cut down on food so I can do more stuff instead. hahaha.

Now time for bed!

xx
Maria

The view was truly stunning.
This I'm going to miss alot
So I am currently going through a phase where I love to watch films that include some kind of war. Preferably with aliens being involved.
Saw Promethius the other day and that was great.
Last night I saw Battle Los Angeles and really liked that.
Riah told me about The Hurt Locker so I'm watching that tonight.

If you know any other films I should put on the list please let me know :)

Tonight I said Goodbye to Millie, Riah and Mary-Beth who are all leaving New York tomorrow!
Can't believe it's almost over for me too. I've had a great time here in the states.

Really sad saying goodbye to my dear friends though.
Good thing I will see Riah and Millie very soon. But I don't know when I will see Mary-Beth so that's always sad!

Safe trip home my sweets.

And thank you all for making my stay here so much better. Will be a lonely last week without you
xxx

Aw tiny little Mumin child!
Hey Guys,

So I'm sorry I haven't really been posting for the last couple of days.
Been having a great time with my dear friends who are leaving New York this Satuday.

Thought I would just post this link though.
The film i've been working on lost half of their funding and that's why we have had a break in shooting.
Hopefully they will go back to filming next week so I can be apart of it a little bit more.

If you want a sneek peak of some of the footage that was shoot in the Sugar Factory have a look HERE

It looks soooo different on screen from how it looked filming. Truly amazing!
You can also check out the films Facebook page right here if you want: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Split-a-film-by-Deborah-Kampmeier/145915635430619

Lots of Love from NYC
xx

The snakes were so incredible on set!!!
I've had an absolutely incredible day!
Me and Millie have toured around the city for 12 hours.
Great day.

I will post photos and talk more about it tomorrow, right now I really have to go to sleep.

Just had to post this one picture real quick.
So we went to see an exhibition about children's books at The Public Library.
There I found this young lady with her eyes stuck on the screen showing Marry Poppins and her classic song "A Spoonful of Sugar".
I ADORED Mary Poppins when I was in her age and seeing her so mesmerized by the same scene I used to love so much just brought warmth to my heart.

She didn't moved an inch and I promise she didn't even blink!

Oh how I wish I could go back in time and be a little girl again..... experiencing Marry Poppins for the first time!

<3

So I thought I would give you an update and some news on my two internships... hehe.
The film is currently holding on filming. They are scheduled to resume this satuday but we'll see how much I can be a part of it. Hopefully I get to do some more work, I would really love to.

And to my other theatre internship they have at last given me something to do believe it or not.
After not having done anything for 6 weeks I got the biggest workload that has to be finished this week.
I'm not complaining, just find it a bit amusing :)

So this week I will be working on:
Prop lists
Character breakdowns
Costume list
Acceptance letters
AND
a press release.

Better get to it

Out of all the Hillsong churches (yeah only three but still) I've been to so far Hillson NYC certainly gets the Passion award!!
Never have I eeever seen or felt so much PASSION coming from one building as a do each sunday in this city!

Honestly it's mindblowing and life changing!
Tonight was no different and what a man John Gray is!!!

"If you want to rock a cross that's fine, but if you want to go to the next level rock an empty tomb!" - John Gray

And finally... If every man loved his wife like @realjohngray (instagram) does... this world would be a MUCH better place!!!

A good breakfast can cheer anyone up ;)

So I just finished re-enrolling and applying for my final student loan.
I really can't believe it's been 2 years already and I'm very soon starting my third and final year at LSBU.

It has been two of the best and worst years of my life. I've learnt sooo much about myself. I've met so many new people that I will keep close to my heart for the rest of my life and I've proven to myself that I'm capable of a lot more than I think.

But like I said in the previous entry. I am right now in one of the best places i've ever been in my life. I'm so so so happy with everything and everyone, and I keep thinking what did I do to deserve all this?!

I guess this last year will pass quicker than any other year but I'm so determined to make it count and work harder than ever before!!!

First time I saw LSBU... almost 2 years ago now

First time I enrolled :)

Hung out with this lady for the first time <3

Freshers week :)
